Last week in drop-in, Adan was working on his spelling packet. The directions for the first worksheet: "Read the words in the box. Write a story using as many words in the box as possible. Make sure you change y to i before adding -es. Answers will vary." Rather than write the perfunctory cobbled-together prose that usually comes from prompts like these, Adan paid off the assignment with a terrific piece of recursive fiction.
