On Wednesday we celebrated the publication of the latest volume of Dogtown Books, a series that collects writing completed in our after-school drop-in tutoring program. Never Lose Your Childish is the longest Dogtown Book yet: 33 pages of comics, poems, stories, and a photodocumentary about three stuffed cats. When homework wrapped up, we threw a standing-room-only release party. Students, parents, and volunteers packed into our writing lab to eat some cake and hear our authors read.
