Yesterday marked the last day of drop-in tutoring and to celebrate we threw a fantastic party for all the students, parents and tutors.

Two of our latest publications, The Dogtown Dispatch, our first student-led newspaper, and 826LA Friends, a magazine created in one of our workshops, made their debut. At right, Tami, magazine workshop instructor, and student Adriel hold up copies of the publications.

Then after a last bit of homework, everyone enjoyed cupcakes and popcorn during the world premiere of Journey to Dark Earth, a thrilling science fiction action film about an evil wizard who opens a deadly portal during a sweet sixteen party. At left, Kevin, star of the film, enjoys a cupcake with regular drop-in student Michael.

The students who wrote, directed and starred in Journey enjoyed a standing ovation concluding the five minute film. Overall, a good time was had by all.
