Behind This Door
826LA is pleased to announce that dead end door re:vealed, its newest publication (produced in conjunciton with re:Active magazine and with the help of a grant from the Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs), has been released.
Last weekend, the student authors and artists presented their work to the public for the first time at Family bookstore on Fairfax. Family's walls could barely contain the eagerly waiting crowd, which spilled out of the front door for most of the two-hour event. The students didn't disappoint; every one of the writers in attendance read a short piece to the audience, and all of the 'zine contributors made themselves available for autographs, pictures, and conversation.
Though you may have missed the event, you can still see the students' work. dead end door re:vealed is an 80-plus page, full-color 'zine of writing and visual art, intertwined far more intricately than in any prior 826LA publication. To find out more (and to purchase copies of the 'zine, whose proceeds fund free student programming at 826LA and re:Active magazine), please visit the 826LA Store.
