We are pleased to announce that "Admiral" Brently Heilbron will helm the Echo Park Lake Paddle Boat Regatta. Brently can be seen in Woody Allen's upcoming Gianni Schicchi. Originally from Austin, Texas, Brently has created a cult following with outrageous live shows like The Richard Simmons Mysteries and Trapped in the Closet—Live! A recipient of the James Michener Grant in writing, Brently has opened for the likes of Paul McCartney, Rudy Ray Moore, and Daniel Johnston. Brently also hosts a monthly charity auction at Amoeba Music in Hollywood.

The fun doesn't stop at the lake; please join us after the race for music and merriment at The Echo with The Damselles and Super Duper—two great bands with 826LA volunteers in their line-up!

Admission to the show is free for all race participants; otherwise, tickets will be available at the door for a suggested $10 donation.
