Sarah Brin is roughly 23 years old. She prefers that her dad hide her Chanukkah present under the leftmost couch cushion. As part of a yearly practice, she pretends to become very frustrated while rifling through every drawer, cupboard, and ficus in her parents' house. These performances can last upwards of ten minutes before culminating with a yelp of discovery. Ms. Brin thanks both her mom and brother for their tolerance of this ritual.
Sarah studied European Cultural Studies and Art History at Brandeis University, where she lived in a real castle (with trapdoors). She wrote her undergraduate thesis on synaesthesia, and on how making art can make even the crummiest of situations livable. Sarah is about to start working on her Masters in Public Art Studies at USC, and she's excited to figure out what that actually means. She considers it a tremendous privilege to be involved with 826LA, and she hopes that they let her stick around for a long time.

Working with inner-city high school students through 826LA's in-school projects has provided volunteer Regina Stagg with a perspective on LA schools that she couldn't get from the newspapers. The students have impressed her with their openness, creativity, and close friendships. Sometimes their writing is so direct and true that Regina remembers every word. She is also impressed with the teachers who invite 826LA into their classrooms: their efforts to motivate and inspire their students go way beyond their job descriptions.
Regina lives in the Westwood area with her husband Joel and her 16-year-old daughter Rebecca. Her older daughter, Anna, attends college in New York. After spending many years as an attorney writing and editing legal briefs, Regina is enjoying putting her writing skills to new uses with 826LA.
Meghan Tetwiler launched her advertising career at Ogilvy & Mather Chicago after completing her studies at the University of Kansas, where she graduated with Honors, receiving a BS in Strategic Communications. Meghan's innate curiosity and commitment to cultivating new skills keep her forging ahead in the ever-evolving advertising industry. She has co-led planning initiatives and collaborated with digital strategists on projects for brands such as Unilever, Allstate, Kraft, and BP. Prior to joining Ogilvy Chicago, Meghan gained marketing experience at Callahan Creek, Deutsch LA, and The Prince's Trust in the United Kingdom.
Meghan now spends her time working as a freelance strategist in Los Angeles, California. Between projects, you'll often find her volunteering with 826LA—pouring her energy into programs designed to inspire kids to think and write creatively—or out hiking in Griffith Park, taking yoga classes, or exploring nearby farmers' markets in her Silver Lake hood. In August, Meghan will travel to Costa Rica to work alongside other international volunteers to teach English and work with children in local San José orphanages.
Every day, Meghan embraces the late Gilda Radner, former SNL comedian, for this life philosophy: "Some stories don't have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it without knowing what's going to happen next. Delicious ambiguity."
Sarah Wheeler has worked as a special educator in Los Angeles since 2005, primarily with children with learning disabilities and ADHD. She has taught several workshops on working with students with special needs to tutors at 826LA, and loves taking her students to the bookmaking workshops where they are convinced that, even though she is in the room the whole time, she is somehow secretly Mr. Barnacle. She has recently moved to Northern California to begin a Ph.D. in School Psychology at UC Berkeley.
