The Jon Scieszka Fan Club
Ages 7 – 12
Six sessions:

10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
This workshop takes place at 826LA West
It is hardly a debatable fact that The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales is one of the top five children's books of all time. If that book never did it for you, then the the Time Warp Trio series surely did. (How can you beat stories with Sam Samurai and the Not-So-Jolly Roger in them?) Using the Time Warp Trio books, the Fan Club will learn about setting, create and perform character sketches, and discuss things like conflict, dialogue, and true heroism. And after they become experts in all things literary (and all things Scieszka), they will write their own time-travel fiction. The students will write letters to Jon Scieszka himself, and perhaps, if they are very lucky, he will come and visit. Either way, after this camp is finished, Scieszka will undoubtedly have some new competition.
