Writing for Pets
Taught by Julius Diaz Panoriñgan
Ages 6-12
Saturday, May 3, 2008
1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
This workshop takes place at 826LA West
685 Venice Blvd., Venice, CA 90291
A workshop classic from 826 Valencia, Writing for Pets works wonders with the shyest and most reluctant writers. Students will learn the basics of genre-writing for different animals—dogs love action stories, for example, and cats love odes to cats. Every student will write a story catering to the tastes of a specific animal before sharing their work with a very receptive (animal, maybe?) audience.
826LA Director of Publications Julius Diaz Panoriñgan manages 826LA's workshop program (among other things). From time to time, he likes to teach a workshop himself.
Julius is fond of animals from all branches of the animal kingdom. He patiently waits for the day he moves into a place friendly to large dogs; for now, he manages with an unnamed shrimp in an Eco-Sphere, two Nintendogs (Zippy and Turtle), and visits with his parents' Lab-Shepherd mix, Polo.
